Welcome to the 2014 CSA Share –
What is a CSA?
CSA is the acronym for Community Supported Agriculture. Making a direct connection between the farmer (us) and the consumer (you). Purchasing a “CSA share” and becoming a member gets you a box of the freshest produce every week, for 20 weeks, throughout the growing season. There is an upfront investment on the consumers part, which in turns gives us the capital to purchase seeds, supplies, maintain equipment, and about everything else needed on the farm. You are also putting money back into the local economy. By buying directly from the farmer you ensuring a secure market for our produce and allowing us to grow high-quality produce at fair prices while you get the confidence you are support a local business in your community
Every week you will pickup a box of pre-packed, washed, in season vegetables, ranging from 6 to 12 varieties. Some of the items will be old favorites like peppers and tomatoes, some may be new to you. As the season progresses, the products will change, known as seasonal availability. We have a lage variety of produce planned for the season, to bring some delightful meals to your dinner plates. Don’t be intimidated by new things as we will be sending out an electronic newsletter with some recipes and ideas for how to use or preserve the vegetables in your box
